Introduction

DirectoryKauai.com is a professionally edited Hawaiian web directory. This resource is an advertising-supported community service, and is provided free of charge.

In order to speed up your web site submission, please carefully read the instructions below.

Choosing a Category

If URLs (web site addresses) are submitted to the wrong category, their inclusion in the directory will be delayed.

Please start at the top category ("Main") and work your way down to the most relevant category.

Before you submit your URL, please review other sites listed in that category. If they are not similar to yours, you may need to find a better category.

It's always best to submit to the most specific category you can find in DirectoryKauai.com.

Unique Content

Please do not submit the following type of information:

• Page content that appears on other domains (duplicate or "mirrored").
• Page content that is primarily made up of affiliate graphic or text links.
• Page content that redirects users to other web sites.
• Page content that is still under construction.
• Page content that contains or promotes illegal activity.
• Page content that encourages violence, hatred, discrimination or other unethical content.

The Title

Once you've determined your site is eligible for listing in DirectoryKauai.com, please navigate to the most relevant category and click on the "Add URL" link.

Enter the Title for your web site or web page. The Title should clearly tell human visitors what your web site is about. I'll use my friend's RainbowWeddings.com Kauai web site as an example.

This is correct:

Rainbow Weddings & Celebrations - Kauai Hawaii Weddings and Vow Renewal Ceremonies

This is incorrect:

Best Wedding Coordinator on Kauai! Visit our web site or call now!

The Title must include the name of the company. If the web site is owned by an individual and not a business, the Title must include the web site's domain name.

The Description

The Description of your web site or web page should be as long as possible, but not exceed the limit of 200 characters.

The Description should clearly describe your web site or web page without including sales promotional language, hype, or superlatives. No exclamation marks, please!

Correct:

Enjoy your Kauai, Hawaii wedding or vow renewal services with minister KatRama Brooks. Full wedding coordination services, including photography, video, limo, catering, and more.

Incorrect:

RainbowWeddings.com - The only thing you need to know about weddings on Kauai. Find out why our happy couples rave about our Kauai weddings!

Please check your spelling and capitalization. Errors in spelling, entries in ALL CAPS, and/or entries in all lowercase, will delay your listing being added to DirectoryKauai.com.

The Keywords

In order for your web site or web page to be found with the DirectoryKauai.com search feature, make sure to think about the relevant keywords a visitor might use to find your content. Your keywords may include singular and plural variations of words you used in the Description.

Example:

consultants, coordinators, hawaii, kauai planners, vows, vow renewals, wedding vows, wedding, weddings

Make sure to use only relevant search terms in the keywords field. Submissions that include keywords that are inappropriate for a given web site will be rejected.
